I'm just trying to figure out if they take your response into consideration or something. Or if the text is sent to specific people or everyone. I've seen quite a few people get their acceptance from Jeff via text, so wondering if this means they're close to making a decision about me.

Also, I'm trying to figure out what A&M is trying to do this cycle? Are they trying to play the "high numbers" game to boost median avgs for rankings? Last week, they reached out to my friend (171 LSAT) last week and said if he applied by 4/20, he'd still get priority RD, app fee waiver, and CAS fee waiver.

It seems strange that they would still be begging high scorers to apply so late in the game, especially when they have so many interested people still on WL. Unless this cycle's medians are lower than previous years...

It seems like they are being generous to everyone 168 or higher. I have contacted two other people who got the text and all three of us have 168 or higher I think (all splitters). Do you mind if I ask your stats? @mbt

@nopain18: 169 LSAT and 2.9 GPA. URM and STEM major. A&M’s right angle of death is bordering Ivy-League levels! I always find it weird when selective schools prefer super splitters over decent applicants with middle of the road stats, but it def might work in our favor!

Reputable institution” is to show them the stats of the admitted class. If A&M is competing with SMU for jobs, they look better if they say “look at our students, they’re averaging 3+ higher on their LSAT and .1+ higher GPA’s. It’s the strategy for bypassing the long drawn traditional establishment process

I have talked to the A&M admissions team and it is true that they are trying to push their lsat median for this class to 168, and they are throwing money at people who are above both medians.

A&M does not like splitters as much as a school like WashU. But, if you have 170+, they may take you still but way less likely than if you had a 168 and a 3.9high.

randomly hopped in here, I was a 17low 2.high and was rejected a few months ago the next day after I was waitlisted. not sure what the hell was going on with me but just a slight forewarning because I thought I was a shoe-in based on past cycles and their love for splitters. I'm sure I just had a weird thing going on with me but still

they also might have had a sleeper agent on here because I was ranting about how bad their admissions process had been for me along with some other people (applied early november, was under "final review" since beginning of december, got waitlisted after 3 entire months of "final" review) and that day I was rejected
