21:22
is it easier to get into a school as a transfer 2L with good grades?
[] 2E2EDDBBTT
21:22
Yes but not Top13
[] trox9
21:26
@EddyL10: yes I think so, just finish as high as you can in your class. I think top ten percent is a good spot to aim for
[] 2E2EDDBBTT
21:27
Top 10 means about the first 20 or 30 or 40 out of your class
[] trox9
21:29
Top ten percent means to be in the top ten percent of the class, no matter how large the class size
Anyone else miss the U chicago wave today?
thoughts on what it means
[] 2E2EDDBBTT
21:52
No wave for uchicago
[] 2E2EDDBBTT
21:53
Also, not only too 10 % but also the GPA.
22:03
@trox9: Thats the plan. I think if I crush it at st. Thomas I may consider a transfer to either UM or FIU. Is lsat still factored in for a transfer, or being top 10% outweighs a mediocre LSAT?
22:04
@trox9: Also, transfer window closes after 1L right? I think I read somewhere most schools require like 66% of credits to be taken at their institution in order to graduate
I toured a school two weeks ago and one of the admissions counselors told me that I would likely get my decision in two weeks whenever the next wave was (there was a wave yesterday and today so perfectly two weeks), I was not part of either wave. Is it a good idea to email them asking for any update and letting them know they are my top choice and I would immediately enroll if accepted?
if you do that, i would mention that you visited and give the names of the people you spoke to , say it was a pleasure to meet them, you look forward to hearing and hope for an offer because you will acccept it

what school
[] trox9
22:18
@EddyL10: gonna be honest, besides what I’ve said, I don’t know anything else about transferring between law schools. People definitely have the answers out there so I’d recommend checking online. I bet people on Reddit have asked those very questions

i think generally for transfering you should make sure you start at a school you're happy with because chances you successfuly transfer are slim and unpredictable
