13:10
is scholarship included in the acceptance email
13:16
My application says Application currently under review 01/23/2024
13:16
Any idea when I should hear anything?
13:17
maybe february if its the first time UR, i called and they said they're backed up and mine was UR since Nov 29
13:26
scholly did end up coming separately
i received my acceptance email and then 5 minutes later got an email with my merit money
Has anyone had any success negotiating?
[] Snippy7
12:27
not yet, but im emailing them this week
18:22
Do they negotiate?
i just got a waitlist and i am absolutely flabbergasted
Why flabbergasted?
[] Snippy7
12:33
im sure you'll get off the waitlist, you're slightly below the gpa they look for but good lsat. im sure you're high on the list! plus if you write a good LOCI you have an even better chance
[] Snippy7
18:10
Just an update: I asked for scholarship reconsideration and they immediately responded with no so I don't think they negotiate merit scholarships for the others who were wondering
Ah, well, that's unfortunate. :(
Only got $1k in merit scholly, very upsetting. hopefully they can negotiate
It's interesting they're that inflexible, when a number of schools in roughly the same "range"/area like UNH and NELB are fairly generous.
[] Snippy7
19:33
yeah I used NESL to negotiate and they said no within 2 hours and suggested I look for outside scholarships. tbh it doesn't bode well with me
That's my gut reaction as well. Justified or not, it makes me wonder what else they'd be inflexible on.
14:55
Thats sad to hear, I may try in like March but tbh even with 120k it would still accumulate a lot of loans
[] Snippy7
14:11
yeah, while I understand not being able to give it, the email was kinda cold and the fact that they didn't even really consider it (2 hours? really?) makes me like the school a bit less
@beaconpride: dude look at out of state, state schools. Youll get near a full ride at New Hampshire. Any school that isnt the elite ones in the boston region are not worth it. NEL is predatory with their conditional scholarships. look at the rates they are lost.
@Snippy7: Youre not going to like this but you should retake. 7sage and LsatLab are both incredibly afforadable and very great tools. I went from a 148 diagnostic to a 160. I emplore everyone to not pay full price at tier 4 schools. You will never escape the debt.
[] Snippy7
14:52
I cannot retake it, thanks for the suggestion however im currently working on my MS thesis and do not have time do to it. I don't mind paying some, I just wanted it to be competitive with NESL
[] Snippy7
14:52
@FlutteringSqueamishPuffin: I also do not have the money to pay for another lsat study group, its just not in my grad student budget lol
15:25
Unfortunately as much as I would love to move out of state its just not an option for me because I can't afford living on my own, I'm going straight from undergrad and commuting from my parents
when to expect scholarship information after getting an A
got a scholarship email like 5 mins after my A email
Congratulations
@beaconpride: Dude apply to more schools. You will get close to full rides to T3 schools with a 160 and high GPA. Then once you get a letter negotiate for instate tution.
