@KnowledgeableRitzyWasp: for real. I mean, generally, it's just worse anywhere else in the world, though. Thai people hate Indian tourists lol and my family in Chiang Mai was happy about what's happening in Burma.

dude they’re TERRIBLE to the workers. my brother had a bday party and invited his classmates. my mom packed food for their driver and maid and the kid went up to her and said not to give them food bc their mom is mad at them rn!!!

my exs mom loved that i was white, didnt get it until she explained the intricacies
@texaslawhopefully: hahaha yeah the rest of the world is definitely more racist than america
unless you’re in like north florida

i decided to not mess with my new laptop tonight... will probably not migrate data but rather copy stuff onto a flash drive from my old computer and then move it to puter 2

22:08
@Eggan: thats how I do it. I have my master flash drive and like nothing but crypto wallets on my computer.

I feel like most Arab parents wouldn’t be happy if their daughter brought a white guy home

@KnowledgeableRitzyWasp: Exactly. And, this was my point earlier. Yes, my views will likely evolve and change, but for a lot of issues they're indef impacted by living abroad and that's a very personal experience for which my views probably won't change. The reality is, I don't think it is arguable at all that, the issues any marginalized group in the US faces are even comparable to the issues marginalized groups face globally. And if you think otherwise, then you just have a very narrow worldview.

yea same, but i guess persians are different lol maybe cause they pride themselves on being white idk
[] texaslawhopefully
22:11
I guess the exception being west Europe and Australia, etc. but even western Europe isn't perfect.
babycat
22:12
I don’t think other people having it worse means the issues here are any less pressing or real
[] texaslawhopefully
22:15
You didn't read what I said earlier. I said it was generally a distraction for what matter and then you said that was black and white. That's not a black and white view, it's comparative. Apple, for instance, donating a few million to BLM and other social justice movements is fine and maybe that makes some marginal difference here, but then they can turn around and use literal slaves to produce their product. You know they had to put up suicide nets around their factories because the conditions were so bad.
[] texaslawhopefully
22:16
Why not instead use that money to, idk, pay your workers better? Simple: that would cost significantly more money. So, instead, pay lip service to a cause that isn't nearly as important and continue exploiting tens of thousands workers internationally.
babycat
22:17
Are you talking to me? What did I say was black and white? I have a fever lol
i mean corporatism is pretty bad. the big corporations just do things they think will increase their profits
shaquilleoatmeal
22:18
how do you know you have a fever when youre always hot
JumpySubsequentDolphin
22:18
you need to be sedated
babycat
22:18
hahaha
[] texaslawhopefully
22:20
@babycat: yes, lol, you told me exactly that. And wasp, it is bad, and my point about distractions early which y'all jumped on was exactly that. We can focus on issues in America, but often they're very rarely as important as the actual issue. You put up some facade of morality to cover up what you actually want to do.

I’m talking about like affordable housing, cost of living, capital project funding issues. I care about workers being exploited in other countries but I care about people here too
22:21
does anyone else like licking the boots of politicians
22:21
does anyone else have munchies right now
babycat
22:21
This is not a partisan agenda I genuinely think we should be doing what we can to make peoples’ lives better in this country even if we already have better quality of life than other countries. I’m not debating anything else
22:21
does anyone else like to caress their boobies and reassure them that each of them is as loved as the other?
