That is deflated because not everyone who gets waitlisted updates after waitlist and Gulc filters their waitlist pretty heavily early on

Gotcha then ye it just depends on the school. For a few they might send out an ii after a WL decision (two did this for me) but how rare or common depends on the school and what it means also depends on the school I suppose

iirc NU sends a kira invite to all WL applicants, it's not required to stay on the WL though
