so at what ranking separation would there actually be a difference?
I think the thinking lsat's podcast's rule of ranking doens't matter unless it's double is pretty true
15:51
Also depends on where you wanna practice after law school
combativecitygirl
15:51
yeah agreed, i feel like it only makes a difference within top 30? if i had to throw a number up there
celestialskies
15:52
@PeterK123: t-6 wtih t-14, t-14 with t-20/30 i think
PeterK123
15:52
because like for example im thinking of applying to indiana which is 45 but i already got into fsu which is like 56 and id rather live in fl than indiana
PeterK123
15:52
so im thinking if thats the case theres no reason to apply to indiana
I don't think the ranking between 45 versus 56 (especially if you want to practice in FL) matters much
except for scholarship negotiation
PeterK123
15:53
thats what i figured
I wondered the same thing good Q
15:57
Anyone have material to help with scholarship negotiations? Im definitely going to need to go hah
15:57
Do that*
I realize more and more rankings don’t really matter lmao either you’re in the top 14 or whatever or you’re trying to go to the best school in the state you want to live in
State ranking matter more than anything
And even then is a temple grads odds of getting hired that much higher than a Penn st grad lol it’s all a scheme
celestialskies
15:59
@WhatItDoBayBeee: idk about that tbh
celestialskies
15:59
oh wait you said penn st nvm
The man wants us to divide us!
idk there's a few schools that have cult status that could help you out of state but that's a dice roll
The longer the application process goes on, the more I am motivated to switch to my backup career of professional wrestler
What’s an example?
Like a William and Mary?
16:02
unc and w&l are fairly portable
16:03
nusl has a weird alaska pipeline lmao
ohio state you may get lucky if you have an a football fan anywhere in the hiring chain
@dollworm: my undergrad in NC had a weird teaching pipeline to alaska
Fair there’s a couple of schools that have overall reps that boost the law rankings. When I first got started in all this I was kinda surprised how low UNC was. I use “low” loosely
16:05
alaska: for boston lawyers and north carolinan teachers
