For all the overly altruistic PI kids in here, a lot of big law firms have pro bono towards total hours and you can do "PI" for that (some allow a LOT of leeway when choosing these hours).

You can go make 200K+ right now working on an oil rig as a laborer lol you can work like an ib analyst or biglaw first year and do that paper grind right now. You people know that bachelor's degrees are a pretty big thing, right? Law is an excellent path, but you need to want LAW and not money as there are a million ways to make as much/be as lucrative.

Software engineering is mix up, it’s not free money
Oil rig workers are busting their ass in North Dakota, lawyers can make $235K sending emails from New York City fresh out of school. Mysteriously, some people prefer the latter.
what about venture capital? Private equity? ST? CM? High end sales? High end management? Consulting? The list is endless lol For high end professional services white collar jobs, biglaw is in the MLB/NFL/NBA category, but there are other sub niche industry categories that do just as well. Big law and law in general requires passion for the field/topic, not just doing something that someone told you gets good pay cheques.

Consulting needs to die tbh such a worthless industry, and all the others require working your way up to it
