Median transfer to Yale had a 3.97 at their current law school, so the question is "what doors are opened for you by rolling the dice on class rank at HYS that aren't available with a 3.97 at Chicago/Columbia/NYU?"
jb2028
15:03
If someone has a 3.97 at USC or wherever, sure
@JalebiBaby: depends on context of what they're trying to get done
if we start seeing like jan and feb apps get cls As today i might move off the grid and stop checking the internet until my deposits r due
transactional work you want a good mediator 100%. you don't want some dick who no one wants to work with again

(Assuming unicorn goals)
15:04
like it would be so dumb which is why most t13 students who have the grades never show up on the 509s
15:04
that's what i was thinking too @Mountaineer
15:04
its primarily t20+ schools, students who were top handful of the class
i saw someone on reddit a few years ago someone transfer from HLS to Yale once and i thought that was pretty funny lol

yeah if you have the grades to transfer to HYS from a t6, you can probably already do what you want at the t6
generally if you're a reasonably personable person you're gonna have a better rep with other lawyers than if you're trying to make everything an argument and "win" on minor shit like extensions, etc.
15:05
@oconic: are you still here?
15:05
there's that one guy on youtube that transferred nyu to harvard
15:05
@SplitOnMe: nowhere else to go
we love julian

unless ur going from like idk t20/50-->t14, I dont understand why u would ever transfer

There seems to be a HLS to YLS every cycle. Gotta respect the next-level prestige whoring
being that kind of lawyer is how you get the other lawyers in an area to refer nutjobs to you because they're "too busy"
GullibleTurtle
15:06
law schools only three years, you'd basically have missed 1/3 of it at the school u transfer to
GullibleTurtle
15:06
making friends, circles etc. would just suck
15:06
@oconic: remind me what your stats are again? and when did you apply to UCLA?
if you think HLS to YLS is bad. there was one SLS to YLS one year...
15:06
that's so true hahaha i've seen that happen
15:06
idk hopefully i can do what julian did. not transfer but like be disciplined to read and take notes thoroughly and even re-read cases
i will say having worked as support for both litigation and transacitonal groups
