I’ve already submitted apps anyhow, except not HYS bc that feels kind of dumb with my scores
22:25
@soapy: do those schools mean a lot to you/ do you think they would drastically impact your life? If yes, ovi R&R imo
[] baddestbunny
22:26
I'm speaking from personal experience so this may not be true for everyone. I thought I would be fine bc the cycle was abnormally slow but I was still at a disadvantage compared to people who applied earlier
soapy
22:26
I have a handful of places I’d be chill going, I’m absolutely not HYS or bust. Scholly money might be nice though
[] baddestbunny
22:26
I did get a 40k/yr scholarship offer off a waitlist last year so can promise it's not joever
soapy
22:27
If I got into any school I applied to, and could share an LSAT increase in Feb as scholly negotiation that’d be good enough for me
[] baddestbunny
22:28
yeah but is it going to be achievable for you as someone still in school to both increase your GPA and your LSAT score? I know you're smart but that's a lot of pressure to put on yourself all at once
soapy
22:29
The only reason I feel like it’s feasible is cuz my gpa has been on a strictly upward trend (3.4freshmanfall—>4.0 the past 2 semesters) and all my practice LSATs were above 175
22:29
you said your GPA, which indicates you are still in UG?
soapy
22:30
yep
[] baddestbunny
22:30
if all your practice LSATs were above 175, what happened on test day? if u can control that circumstance u should be set
22:30
Take Jan. get a killer score, negotiate with the schools you already applied to, if you do not get an offer you like, apply to HYS+ day one next year seems logical...bunmny>
22:30
?
[] baddestbunny
22:31
apply to HYS now! couldn't hurt
[] baddestbunny
22:32
if you take Jan they're gonna hold ur apps until they get ur score anyway
22:32
soap r u holding ur app at the schools you already applied to pending your Jan release?
soapy
22:36
nah. I just applied
soapy
22:36
On test day, i had a lot of tech errors and neighbors had a party and proctor rage quit on me cuz I couldn’t hear him
soapy
22:37
I haven’t got the cash to apply to HYS and Harvard won’t give me a fee waiver and it feels a bit silly to break the bank to apply with current stats
22:38
ok like bunny said above, they may auto hold your app, but as someone who is doing the exact thing you are talking about, most will: a. not notice you are registered without you emailing them, b ignore your email, c. not hold ur app even if u ask. YOU can decide if your current score can either get you an A or WL OR if you should email each school and ask for them to hold ur app
soapy
22:39
Ok. I’m fine with them taking a look at my app now
22:40
how many schools did you apply to?
soapy
22:40
11
22:41
also, if you did not do so already, I strongly suggest applying for an LSAC fee waiver. all you need is last years tax return and to send them an email. that will get you auto waive app fee and 6 cas reports (or more)
soapy
22:41
ah damn. I wish I had known about that earlier rip
soapy
22:43
I was under the impression you’d needed a Pell Grant to be eligible
Dkk
22:43
Yeah, I had no idea about the fee waiver last year. Would have saved a lot of money. This whole process really takes a year to learn.
22:43
scroll down, green box, 2 prep tests in exam mode, then a course,
soapy
22:45
oh baller
