trees1234567
13:26
no need to apologixe
trees1234567
13:26
this is totally expected lol
there are people who suggest the fact that applicants who apply early statistically do better is more of a correlation thing than causation thing
it sucks though, applying is a lot of work
babybunny
13:27
yes self-selecting
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
13:27
Yeah but applying late dooms your app
but it definitely wouldnt hurt and if it could boost then why not
pug
13:27
rt manifest. i wouldnt say my app was DOOMED by applying in feb as a splitter
trees1234567
13:27
3.83/164 and I blanketed the T14 except for cornell and then did vandy and ucla
trees1234567
13:27
my softs are cool and are like a T2.5
pug
13:28
i got almost a full ride at 2 schools and then like 50% at NDLS.
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
13:28
Yeah you can still get in some places but you’re looking at double to triple the chance of being WL if you apply late
have yall been discussing SLS at all because im kinda shocked that it's 2 days before deposit deadline and i haven't heard a peep
trees1234567
13:28
@CondemnedPuffyGnome: I agree - I think I have v much resigned to the fact that whats meant to happen will happen
pug
13:28
but i suppose i was doomed at places like duke but thats more on them lmao. like why have a deadline of feb 15 if you wont consider anyone who applied after dec 31
trees1234567
13:29
@pug: they want the money!
13:29
It still hasn't sunk in yet that after seven years I'm finally leaving the teaching profession. It's so bitter-sweet.
i think because i was such an extreme splitter, the odds that schools would give me a decision before going through most of their pile were low
13:29
Truth is probably somewhere in between. Yes, people who have their LSAT where they need it and their essays + LORs ready to go September 1st are likely competitive in other ways. But, some schools (e.g., Duke) explicitly say late applications are at a disadvantage.
@trees1234567: me too frankly. but I take some solace in having gone through this all once already. I think without LG I can do much better on the lsat as well
babybunny
13:29
i have unique softs that keep me tied to the northeast for at least a year so i could go to school now in this area or reapply to a broader range of schools next cycle when i don't have that constraint
if im on columbia hold/waitlist/reserve whatever its called do i still write a LOCI
pug
13:29
i would agree with jb here. its a mix of both
also re: @SplitterusClitterus if I already wrote a hold LOCI do I write another lol
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
13:30
Yeah the statistical difference is probably not entirely explained by app date, it’s definitely a mix of both

@CondemnedPuffyGnome: I agree with you tho LG was my strong suit but I know the LSAT is a learned test and I improved on LR down the stretch
