@KetchupOnPasta: you forgot dean Z
15:33
@Pookie52: I quoted their dean of admissions in an interview in my "why UVA" thing but it was very much fitting it into the template of my other "why x" essays so I think it just read weird and bad
love that spider is on the bingo card

Average Spivey podcast: Widely shared observation from publicly available stats. Generic piece of advice repeated in 10 other sources. Anecdote from Spivey's time running Vanderbilt admissions. Random quote from/reference to a recentish self-improvement book or fad. Unfalsifiable prediction. Thanks for listening folks!

LMAO
is his advising services any good im so curious

Am I the only person who likes spivey?
Pookie52
15:34
i mean my friend last year got into Harvard with it but who knows if they would have without
15:35
@Mountaineer99: i am on lsa my acc is Ok_Breadfruit1114
15:35
i tried to listen to his podcast and made it about 5 minutes and turned it off lol
i would love to see Spivey's HYS success rate
Pookie52
15:36
its probably high id say its worth for those 3

15:36
I have not used them, but going by the podcast and publicly available videos/materials Spivey seems like the value added is greatest for people that know nothing about the process and very limited if you've done your research and/or have decent pre-law advising at your school
Did you guys hear that Spivey set fire to an orphanage thinking it was a t1 soft
15:36
Spivey is cool imo. Idk how you expect him to give advice that's directly applicable to you as a person through the format of a podcast
Pookie52
15:36
because it gets so mushy and qualitative
15:36
my friend is a 180/4.0 and struck out of HYS with spivey hes a scammer

I don't dislike Spivey specifically, but I resent the amount of money that admissions consultants make tbh
15:36
it's kind of crazy that spivey is so successful as an admissions consultant considering mf has never been to law school. like ik he worked in admissions at vandy but still
15:37
He also works with law schools themselves on strategies and how to jump in rankings and stuff like that

My admissions consultant told me HLS was such a reach I shouldn't apply. I did anyway and got that A
im sure hes a great man but making 6figs just to say generic advice is crazy
15:37
ask the dumbasses on reddit who suck his dick
Pookie52
15:37
@HorseyMed: were they kjd? i would only say that sucksif not
i would suck CLS’s dick
wait how much money do admissions consultants make? it can't be that much
15:37
NO GOOSEGIRL R DANGIT
jb2028
15:37
They'll stop people from making stupid mistakes on a lark, so if you're likely to send admissions a lock of your hair or whatever, a Spivey consultant will add value by telling you "jfc no, why would you do that?"
im glad there was a slight pause in action after lawschoolapplyers comment

I think they charge 5k per person
