@QuirkyBison: your GPA is way above median. So they'll need people like you to offset LSAT's if they want to maintain their medians
Welp the way its looking I'm hoping we don't hear anything today.
15:18
At this point hearing anything would be a blessing for me.
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
16:09
"We're all in this together" -high school music style
16:40
Fitting, seeing that East High is in SLC
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
16:56
Good point. Fun fact, Sharpay's pink locker is still there at the school
17:34
Some As today too.. maybe not all is lost
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
17:40
Nah. I've been UR for months at this point. I'm starting to think UofU doesn't exist. It's like Narnia
17:42
Valid. I wonder if you could email the admissions team and see what’s up?
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
17:43
I would, if not for the fear of "shut up, we have 900000 more applicants this year."
17:45
I mean, can’t hurt to try I guess? UR for
17:45
UR for months is kind of ridiculous imo
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
17:47
If I don't hear back by the end of the week I think I'll reach out. The crazy thing is I've only heard back from 1/8 schools. LSAT above all 75th percentiles, GPA above most. It just looks like EVERYTHING is painfully slow this year
17:49
Which is weird. The other 2 schools I applied to got back to me in a very reasonable amount of time. I’m sorry you’ve had that luck
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
17:55
Thanks, but that's life sometimes. It'll turn around here soon. Hopefully more As today
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
11:23
Everyone so excited for another day of no As?!
11:27
I sure am!!
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
11:52
Anybody have good book recommendations to give me something to do while I wait?
I've been reading through Akhil Amar's books on the constitution and constitutional history. They're awesome.
12:54
Nietzche has been my bread and butter recently
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
13:42
Oooh Chameleon I just finished "The Words that Made Us" and really enjoyed it. Fairly dense, but Akhil Amar is GREAT
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
13:43
Haven't read any Nietzche. Any good place to start?
I recently started that one on audio book. I finished America's Constitution and now I'm slowly working my way through America's Unwritten Constitution too.
13:49
A good intro would be Twilight of the Idols as its the easiest of his books to read,
13:50
if you're not into philosophy its not very fun lol. I'd also recommend Robert E Howard's Conan series but Im a huge fantasy guy
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
14:11
@VacuousHatefulChameleon: "Slowly working my way through" is kind of how you have to read his work. I felt like I was constantly rereading, but totally worth it.
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
14:13
@Manysko: LOVE philosophy. But unfortunately I'm currently fairly ignorant on the subject other than basic bitch stoic reading I did in my teens. So I might need to hit a primer before taking a deep dive into Nietzche. For fantasy, I just started "The Name of the Wind" and it's great so far
14:33
Stoicism is great, but Nietzche helped me so much in life so I got really into him. Robert E Howard's books are quite Nietzchean in tone and themes as well lol same with Berserk if you're into manga
InstinctiveCaringUrchin
14:44
Is Berserk the medieval one? I think my girlfriend was talking about this the other day
16:23
Yep. Metal as fuck too
