Any movement? When do we think the next wave will be?
I've been "with admissions committee" for over a month now. What does this mean
15:49
just means it is being reviewed. @redbellpepper
@Cbean: Ok thanks. Any idea on how long it takes to get a decision once I'm UR?
15:33
@redbellpepper: I received a decision about 4 weeks after submitting my app. But I also got WL so an A could look a little different timeline-wise.
Great. Thank you. Hope you get off the WL!!!
11:52
@redbellpepper thanks! Is St Thom your #1??
@Cbean: Here's to hoping we both get off the WL! St. Thomas has been my dream school since I've visited
14:28
@MidwestHopeful: that's awesome! Yeah I have visited a few times and it is a great school and environment. I think I'm going with Mitchell Hamline for this fall. GL!
@Cbean: My #1 was Marquette for the longest time, but for personal reasons I have decided to stay close to home (I'm from the twin cities suburbs). I unfortunately didn't get into UMN (not surprising): but I have heard nothing but good things about UST. I'm also holding out hope for Mitchell Hamline. I've been under review for almost a month. I've only heard good things from MH's alumni, but I am concerned about their job placement history
TLDR: Yes, St. Thomas is my #1
14:47
@redbellpepper: gotcha, well GL! It took about 4 weeks for me to hear back from MH so I hope you hear back soon.
I guess I've only been UR for two weeks, idk why I thought it was closer to a month
@Cbean: Thanks :) I know this is the St Thomas page, but is MH really as bad as everyone makes it out to be? Honestly am considering going there if I can get a decent scholarship
15:56
@redbellpepper: I really don't think so. I got amazing vibes from ASD and I've been familiar with the school for years. Almost all of the attys I worked for went there and half of all MN attys are alums, so the alumni pool is huge. I think it's a great school, but so are all MN law schools
@Cbean: That's what I thought too but everyone is always like "50/50 chance you'll be a lawyer" when it is known that MH has a big/huge hybrid online program which benefits people that are going for a JD advantage job
And like you said it has AMAZING placement in MN
16:49
@redbellpepper: yeah, 100%. Law school is what you make of it. There are a lot of factors to consider but I think it's a good fit for me and it is close to home :) so that's a plus lol
@Cbean: exactly right. My girlfriend is graduating with an RN degree next month and hopes to work in the cities, so that would be an added benefit
I don't think I could do long distance during law school
It would be nice to go back home too. I have an internship with the Dakota County Court
's this summer and that would be an easy transition if I didn't have to move
Idk why that sent as two messages - my bad
14:35
@redbellpepper: LD would be so difficult, I couldn't even imagine. That sounds like a great internship opportunity tho!
@Cbean: Thanks!
I went UR for a second time yesterday. How long after your second UR do you usually get a decision??
When do you all think more decisions are coming?
I've been "with admissions committee" for two months. Am I being ghosted?
Anybody know how often people get off of the waitlist here? And how long it takes to get off of said waitlist?
Went under review a few days ago... please tell me I will get a decision soon
