Tell us what's important to you
@HabitualUnwrittenSeahorse: still no movement for me
@HarmoniousWyvern: usd is the only school I am considering attending so this process is torturous
@HabitualUnwrittenSeahorse: tbh it doesnt seem like the admissions office cares about the impact on students, they have been very unprofessional the whole cycle
Emailed and got a response saying I'd get a response in 3-5 days and it has been 5 business days.
@WalkerTexasRoadhouse: classic haha
did you see the new communication about the alumni reception?
in the portal
@HabitualUnwrittenSeahorse: I saw the email for the alumni reception. Its for prospective students as well
@HabitualUnwrittenSeahorse: there was a waitlist info session this week, and apparently the dean said that almost all spots are already filled
@HabitualUnwrittenSeahorse: on track to fill and almost all spots are already filled are two t
different descriptions imo
if you are referencing the same reddit post
@HabitualUnwriteebSeahorse I wrote that Reddit post and you are right. The Dean meant that they are on track for filling all the seats by August, but there’s truly no confirmation that any of those seats are filled until the start of classes. She was comparing this year’s first seat deposit submissions from last year and she said they received more first seat deposits this year at this time than last year.
@FreeSpicyWeasel: How can she say they are on track to fill seats by August if there is truly no confirmation any of those seats are filled....by august. That means nothing.
@HarmoniousWyvern: idk, I think she’s assuming those that put a first deposit down are actually attending or predicting by comparing to the numbers from last year.
@FreeSpicyWeasel: Yes, thats what I am saying. They have already filled most of their seats with first depositors therefore they arent going to make any more offers unless someone withdraws or drops out and that is unlikely to happen to a significant degree.
@HarmoniousWyvern: I still think they’re going to make more offers for those who haven’t received a decision yet but she was saying that waitlisted people have a very unlikely chance of getting admitted off the waitlist.
Lots of waitlists today...
@HarmoniousWyvern: anything?
@HarmoniousWyvern: nothing
@HarmoniousWyvern: at this point im taking that as a positive seeing all the recent waitlist decisions
@HabitualUnwrittenSeahorse: I want to agree with that but im a pessimist so... I do see a lot of variety in the complete dates of the decisions. Some after I went complete, some before, so they arent going in chronological order.
@HarmoniousWyvern: I've noticed that as well. we are both sandwiched. I've oscillated between optimism and pessimism to the point of just total confusion. We'll see, wishing you luck!
@HarmoniousWyvern: any news?
@HabitualUnwrittenSeahorse: waitlist rofl
@HarmoniousWyvern: I'm sorry to see that but you are not out of consideration yet! when did you find out? will update with my decision hopefully shortly! wishing you the best
