I applied late Jan to PT program and still nothing back. It still as incomplete
Its almost June, should I send a letter of continued intereest. I have options but really love San Diego
but deposits arew due soon\
@WheresMySonNemo: Are you waitlisted or still awaiting decision?
@WheresMySonNemo: I think the general advice i've seen is don't send a LOCI unless you've been waitlisted. There is a good chance you'll receive a decision after June1st when they get a rule of thumb on class size. May not be a bad idea to shoot their office an email and see if you can get a rough timeline. I've had nothing but positive and timely responses when interacting with them
@WheresMySonNemo: FYI, USD only takes LOCIs if you've been Waitlisted!
Okay thanks for letting me know. Just been in review for awhile
Might send an email regarding timeline thank you

Anyone apply for the Admitted Students Scholarship?
18:17
Predatory scholarships here lol
@Seattleslew: How so?
@Seattleslew: Curve isn't too crazy and conditioanlity is just to stay top 75%.. not the best but not predatory...

Conditional is predatory
WhiteMountains
18:13
Unless the condition is to remain in good academic standing and good academic standing at that particular school is within a reasonable range, e.g. 2.0-2.5
twinkletwinklestar
12:06
this school is good at leaving ppl in the dark. They'd be ranked #1 if that was a metric.
twinkletwinklestar
12:08
@WhiteMountains: conditional is not always "predatory" a lot of schools have a top 75% condition which isn't exactly predatory. Such a blanket statement.
WhiteMountains
20:49
A lot of predatory schools do, yes. A definition is, by definition, a blanket statement
WhiteMountains

Read the Inside the Law School Scam blog or Don’t Go to Law School (Unless) book by a Colorado law professor. It explains this truth in detail
WhiteMountains
21:07
I guess it depends on what, exactly, predatory means to you. Is it 5% of students losing their scholarships, 10, 20, 40? USD operates, in some respects, as a predatory law school. Having conditional school ships is a giant red flag and tells you all you need to know. (But, if you need to know more, there are other giant red flags.)
WhiteMountains

Scholarships*
15:45
Agreed. Their scholarships are predatory. According to their most recent 509, approx. 120 students lost or had their scholys reduced last year
@lovelyday: I don't know where you're getting this data. For the 2022-2023 calendar school year, 256 entered with scholarship and only 39 had reduced or eliminated.
@lovelyday: Maybe you misread the data and added up 39+35+43 for the 2022-2023, 2021-2022, and 2020-2021 academic years.
StinkyButt
1:38
jesus. so every year around 40 students lose scholarships?
StinkyButt
1:38
that’s pretty bad.

I got on their WL, but they keep accepting people with crazy stats who of course got in somewhere else. lol wth?!
