Anyone know why Pitt calculates the cost of living about $10,000 less than Duquesne lol
I am attempting to negotiate the scholarship, btw - will update the result for anyone interested
my status checker says admitted as of today, no email yet, but it's been "admitted" for at least an hour or so now. doesn't hurt to check if you're expecting to hear something soon (:
How long did it take to receive the admit package w/ scholarship info? I got admitted on 1/19
17:50
@evajade123: Just received my admittance. Applied on December 17th
does anyone know when they send out decision?
Has anyone tried to negotiate scholarships?
how long was everyone’s application under review before they got a decision?
How long did anyone admitted have to wait to get scholarship info? And was it emailed or mailed.
@HappySableDog: You get it in the mail. I did not receive any in mine but I know others did. I think it took like 2 weeks.
@SteelersReignSupreme: I tried and was told to apply for "blue and gold" full tuition scholarship and that if I don't get that, they will send my file for reconsideration after
So seems like a big waiting game on negotiations right now - a few other schools told me the same thing, they would reconsider in March
@wealthofnations: Ok its good to hear they are open to it. As of right now assuming I get rejected from everywhere else - Pitt is my top choice so I am glad they are receptive to it.
In recent years it doesn't seem like they were - but my assumption is that the Duquesne rankings rise and their scholarship generosity has forced Pitt's hand
16:12
Duquesne is the move for me personally; from everyone I've spoke to in the Pittsburgh area the differences between the schools are not worth the price differential.
16:18
But that's only for people looking to practice in the Pittsburgh area after graduation. Pitt's degree and education is more transferable and won't leave you feeling as landlocked as Duquesne.
@LudicrousEgg: Totally makes sense. If you are 100% staying in Pittsburgh, it's an easy call. Duq is generous as hell with scholarship money now too.
That's why I personally lean Pitt, the name just carries more weight elsewhere and I'm not from PA - so it's nice to leave the door a bit more open
16:56
Duquesne has deeper roots in Pittsburgh's legal community, but Pitt is more recognizable on a national level. If you are set on Pittsburgh and western/central PA, they are both excellent schools, especially with the incredibly large donation from Kline.
Does anyone know how they notify after applying for the Blue and Gold scholarship? is it an email or do they mail something again?
It's an email - I got the rejection for it yesterday lol
17:17
bruh lol
When do we hear about scholarship? I got accepted and proceeded to get several emails from Pitt but nothing talking about scholly
13:57
They send some info in the mail but also they are waiting for fafsa too afaik
12:48
been under review for months

Ngl the fact grad loans are 8% rn is insane.

Has anyone put in for a scholarship reconsideration and heard back?
