From what I have read, the interview for students that were not waitlisted is consistently very similar from student to student.

Congrats!! Do we think WL movement is going in order of application date? Seems like it’s just been September-November. Or I guess could just be stronger applicants in that date range? Idk

Just gauging - there are ppl in here who still haven't heard from them at all this week, right? 🥲

For those who have gotten the II, what was the turnaround time? Is the interview always the following day?
grapesnlemonade382
14:28
@NondescriptGoodTermite: I haven't got an II (at least not yet *fingers crossed*) but every single person that has posted on reddit or that I've heard of from other people have said its the next day

Hey I have a really big question, so I ended up with a C+ in a proof-based Linear Algebra class. I'm an undergrad at UVA and would really like to pursue Law School here as well, do I still have any semblance of a shot with getting accepted to UVA Law? I'm duper nervous because on the one hand, this class WAS really hard and my route has been to pursue research for a few years and then apply to Law School but the grade I got in Linear Algebra makes me believe that I have no shot at UVA Law
NondescriptGoodTermite
15:03
Answer is that it depends. What's your overall GPA?
16:55
I'm not sure, anywhere between 3.7low to 3.9low
Bro jesus you got a C+ in one class you'll be fine
20:36
But my numbers need to be perfect for Law School though, it's a numbers game or is my understanding fundamentally flawed?
grapesnlemonade382
20:54
they don't need to be perfect :) obviously just like do your best. Don't like slack or anything lol. But One C+ in one class won't horribly hurt your chances - especially if you do well in other classes to cushion it
grapesnlemonade382
20:57
also, EVEN if your GPA isn't perfect, but you do very well on the LSAT you should be fine. It's not an exact science ofc, and its not guaranteed that even WITH the numbers you'll get in. But like, admissions is pretty holistic (which I never believe, but I really do believe it is at UVA) so yea. Do your best w/ your GPA and ofc its important its good, but its not the end all, be all if you slip up
20:57
yeah, I'm hoping that EDing to UVA plus already being a Hoo will help me secure the UVA acceptance
grapesnlemonade382
21:09
yep - one mediocre grade won't hurt you too badly as long as you show growth! Good luck for whenever you apply :)
21:18
thank you! also, what would be a good way to find other law schools to apply to? I know conventional T-14 or bust wisdom but I want to know where else is good for biglaw recruiting, PI, and Clerkship placements
grapesnlemonade382
22:36
honestly I'm not 100% sure about like how to determine what schools are best to apply to for all of that. There are only a handful of schools, so I mainly just researched the schools in general areas I'd be willing to live in and looked at their class profiles, 509 reports, etc... maybe other people here have more insights into all of that my knowledge is pretty limited but if you have other questions I'd be happy to like message you more on reddit (if you use it - my user is the same lol) - so we don't spam this chat!
