Read a random definition: leasehold mortgage

A quick definition of spes successionis in obligatione:

Term: SPES SUCCESSIONIS IN OBLIGATIONE

Definition: Spes successionis in obligatione refers to the hope of inheriting a right under an existing obligation. This means that someone hopes to receive a benefit or right that is currently owed to someone else. For example, if a person owes money to another person and that person passes away, their heirs may have a hope of inheriting the right to collect that debt.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Spes successionis in obligatione is a legal term in Latin that refers to the hope of succeeding to a right under an existing obligation.

Example: Let's say that John owes $10,000 to his friend Tom. John has a son named Jack, and he hopes that Jack will inherit his assets after he passes away. In this case, Jack's hope of succeeding to John's obligation to pay Tom is an example of spes successionis in obligatione.

This legal term is often used in inheritance cases where a person hopes to inherit the rights and obligations of another person. It is important to note that spes successionis in obligatione is not a guarantee of inheritance, but rather a hope or expectation of it.

Has anyone worked with Spivey Consulting? Do you recommend working with them?
21:36
I have not, but I trust Mike/ them, I think they have a unique perspective (ex adcoms) and I think, based on their free info/analysis, they are a great group and could provide some value to most applicants.

what do you guys think of retaking the LSAT in August after depositing at a law school starting in late august? I'm thinking if I get like a 179, I might reapply to law school

is it really bad to enroll at a school and then drop out because you think you'd have a better shot at a higher ranked school the next cycle?

I'd be very careful with timing. If you're able to "drop out" prior to the start of classes, that's one thing, but it seems that admissions offices look very unkindly on applicants who "started" law school and left (absent very compelling circumstances, such as serious personal illness)
