The defendant is being sued for causing the death of Nathan Goodman in a grade crossing accident. The defendant argues that Goodman's own negligence caused the accident. The court finds that Goodman is responsible for his own death as he did not take sufficient precautions when crossing the railroad track. The court establishes a clear standard of conduct for future cases, stating that if a driver cannot be sure whether a train is dangerously near, they must stop and get out of their vehicle. The judgment is reversed, and the lower court's decision is deemed erroneous.
