Almost all pushes I have seen from other schools are either due to not having as many decisions out as they want, less people depositing than they expected, or due to something that disrupted the admissions office during the cycle (natural disasters, changing leadership, acts of god, etc.) So probably something in the same vein as those three.

or moving it to right after rankings come out? maybe hoping their rank goes up and more As decide to deposit?
