@LegallyBrunnette2023:
My status checker just switched to decision rendered and there is a seat deposit fee, so I am assuming I got accepted! When should I expect to receive the official email/mail? And does that correspondence come with scholarship info if you get some?
I just got the email with scholarship info!

Hi all! Is anyone going to the admission students day this friday?
Admitted*
my status checker changed with a seat deposit!!! I think this means admitted?!
is the seat deposit for kentucky binding?
i don't think so - I don't think it's refundable but you can pay the seat deposit and if you decide somewhere else then you'd pay the other school's seat deposit
yeah, looking it up it's not binding. If you pay the 400 dollar seat deposit but decide to go somewhere else later, you'll just be out the 400
@LegallyBrunnette2023: thank you so much. I just wanted to make sure, the wording in the email had me confused

Is anyone else sad about their scholarship offer? I asked for them to reconsider and was rudely told no. My friend is a 1L there and she said it's because they're broke.
yes they are in trouble for owing money, I planned to ask the admissions counselor I am meeting with when I go tour about it.
https://www.kentucky.com/news/local/education/article272884780.html this news article speaks of how the school has been in a deficit due to scholarship money and the new building
@swiftieatlaw: I didn't get a lot of money either - Im fortunate that I am instate and worked fulltime before going but it's still stressing me out to have to take out loans. I dont think UK will lose their accreditation but it's still worrisome considering the 18 million dollars owed.
@swiftieatlaw: are you an instate applicant? or out of state?
9:21
anyone heard anything? I applied 3/10

@LegallyBrunnette2023: I'm out of state and looking at like 150K in loans. I decided to deposit at UTK. I can't justify owing that much and I really tried to see what my options were in terms of funding. the counselors were not helpful
