A quick definition of legal action:

Legal action means taking a problem to court or to a legal authority to get help. It's like asking a teacher or parent to help solve a problem, but instead, you ask a judge or lawyer to help you. Legal action can be used to protect your rights or to get something you deserve. It can also mean any action taken before the law.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Legal action refers to the act of bringing a lawsuit, prosecution, or judicial proceeding to obtain a legal remedy or to protect a legal right.

For example, if someone is injured in a car accident and wants to sue the other driver for damages, they would need to take legal action by filing a lawsuit in court. Similarly, if a company believes that a competitor has infringed on their patent, they may take legal action by filing a lawsuit to protect their intellectual property rights.

Legal action can also refer to any action taken before the law, such as filing a complaint with a government agency or seeking an injunction to stop someone from engaging in harmful behavior.

Overall, legal action is a formal process that involves using the legal system to resolve disputes and protect legal rights.

True. They do pro bono cases !!!
In LOCI would it ever make sense to explain that you have acceptances/scholarship at other schools but are still interested in making it off the waitlist? or is it a red flag to say you got in somewhere else? (obv by now they would assume I have deposited if I bring it up). thanks and lmk. it really does help
17:12
what do you want out of telling them that?
17:12
and most other schools don't really care, unless you're telling like a t50 that you got in to Yale and still want to go to them
@SplitOnMe: it shows interest and that I would be willing to attend their school despite having acceptances.
17:15
@HaplessFierceLynx: but doesn't writing a LOCI itself and staying on the WL say that already?
UncleMacisBack
17:15
@SplitOnMe: congrats on gulc, you think you’ll go?
it shows interest instead of telling them about my interest?
17:16
@UncleMacisBack: thank you! no idea, it's a money thing kinda for me. I want generic Chicago BL so while it's probably easier from GULC, it's not 100% I'm committing today
@SplitOnMe: btw do you have advice for wl. I notices the gtown wl->A
UncleMacisBack
17:16
Fair fair, gulc you’d probs have to go nyc and then lateral to chi
17:17
@HaplessFierceLynx: yes I am trying to give it to you! I wrote about what a good fit I am for the school, expanded on the parts of my application, mentioned the friends I have there that I spoke to about the programs
17:17
@UncleMacisBack: NU would be a no-brainer
