If you really want to go there, you can always ED but don't expect money. If you can get a higher PT like 176 then I would consider applying but a 167 isn't far off from a 171. Need a degree of +/- 5. High GPA helps. You had a good shot of getting into at least 1 T14 with that GPA last cycle. Still a gamble though. If you really want to get in, 7:51 PM

A couple of website gripes: people misentering the cycle they have applied, so looking at charts now I'm seeing some applicants from last year. I really don't know much at all about part time programs/online, just make sure you do your due diligence about employment outcomes at those schools. From my understanding, the best way to get a job is to summer there as a 2L and IDK what that looks like at an online/part time program. For GPA, the difficulty of program, school curve, etc, are essentially sorts that may be considered. A law school may love rounding out their class with a doctor of pharmacy, which isn’t common entry into law school. But, for their rankings and prestige, law schools value a high median GPA— meaning they want at least half their class to have 10:00 AM

If you really want to go there, you can always ED but don't expect money. If you can get a higher PT like 176 then I would consider applying but a 167 isn't far off from a 171. A couple of website gripes: people misentering the cycle they have applied, so looking at charts now I'm seeing some applicants from last year. I really don't know much at all about part time programs/online, just make sure you do your due diligence about employment outcomes at those schools. One of my softs is getting accepted to a nonprofit fellowship that accepts top math/science teachers and gives them a large scholarship over 4 years. Would that qualify more as a T2 or T3 soft? I wouldn't use softs to gauge my chances somewhere. Just know whether you have strong or weak softs and try to make them as strong as possible to give you an advantage at reach schools. Don't ruminate on how much each thing helps. 12:21 PM

T14 technically just refers to the US News rankings which used to be far more stable. So nowadays, the 10-14 change year to year. Many still consider Cornell to be T14 because it was there for so long, but dropped to 18 this year. Anyway, UCLA is definitely T14, it’s made the top 14 for at least the last 3-4 years straight. 12:47 PM

There is a prestige and acceptance rate different between the top core T14 (Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Chicago, Penn).. and those more on the margin (Vanderbilt, Georgetown, Wash U, etc) 12:49 PM

Just shows you can’t use any single factor to “rank” law schools… plus, the rankings dont mean much in the real world. Depending on career plans and geographic preferences, your personal top law schools can be very different than the “list.” If you want big law versus public interest versus clerkship versus criminal law, 1:13 PM

Not to be rude. But if someone else asks where they should go with 170 or 170+ with high GPA, maybe reconsider law school. I think It is pretty obvious you have a chance at most schools. im a doctor of pharmacy grad, (0-6 year program), my gpa for undergrad is technically 3.23 but it accounts for the pharmacy classes, if only undergradute level courses it would be 3.5. Do you think law shcool will take into account? 9:49 AM

For GPA, the difficulty of program, school curve, etc, are essentially sorts that may be considered. A law school may love rounding out their class with a doctor of pharmacy, which isn’t common entry into law school. But, for their rankings and prestige, law schools value a high median GPA— meaning they want at least half their class to have 10:00 AM

The highest GPA possible. Their rankings are better served by someone who has a 4.0 with easy classes, than a chemical engineer with a 3.2 GPA. 10:01 AM

After attending an info session, however, admissions said that they are looking to raise their median again from a 166 to a 168?? Does this hurt my chances?
