@St-Thomas-More IMO 170 is a great score. We are just in a competitive cycle right now with lots of people applying. More 170s will get rejected this year than get accepted. PLUS, online forums tend to have a selection bias with the people talking about their scores. 5:18 PM

This makes it seem like a disproportionately high number of people are getting 170s and makes you start to think "huh, maybe its not that special." @St-Thomas-More IMO 170 is a great score. We are just in a competitive cycle right now with lots of people applying. More 170s will get rejected this year than get accepted. PLUS, online forums tend to have a selection bias with the people talking about their scores. 5:18 PM

I've noticed people who get 170+ scores tend to post about it ALOT. This makes it seem like a disproportionately high number of people are getting 170s and makes you start to think "huh, maybe its not that special."
