Understanding Your LSAT Score

The LSAT is scored on a scale of 120 to 180, with the median score around 153. Your LSAT score is one of the most important factors in law school admissions, alongside your GPA and personal statement.

Scores of 170 and above place you in the top 5% of test takers, making you competitive at nearly every law school including T14 programs. The 160–169 range covers roughly the 73rd–94th percentile, with many top-50 schools having medians in this band.

Scores in the 150–159 range are around the 38th–70th percentile. You have many quality options and may qualify for merit scholarships at schools where your score exceeds the median. Scores of 140–149 are below the national median, but several ABA-accredited schools accept students in this range, and a strong GPA or work experience can strengthen your application.
