Help us make LSD better!
Tell us what's important to you

nailing your caffeine and sleep habits in the twoish weeks before the test is huge
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
18:43
idk if you use cannabis or nicotine but those are important variables too
trees1234567
18:43
yeah I did not do a good job of preparing myself mentally/physically for the test
trees1234567
18:43
went hard and felt like I burned out right as test day came
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
18:43
yeah those are just free points for you then
trees1234567
18:43
do not use either of those substances nor do I drink caffeine!
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
18:43
you shouldnt do anything more than like 5 questions a section the week of the test
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
18:44
you can take your last PT the week before and then average your last 5 PTs for a good prediction of your score
trees1234567
18:44
I will do that! Thinking if I give myself from June to October and just pace my studying in a healthy manner I will likely do better
@messyguardedterrier got some insane offers from Pepperdine and Hastings, both full rideS??
with a 3.99 and 154
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
18:45
does general/test anxiety affect you or do you find yourself pretty solid mentally on test day?
how are my offers so shit compared to theirs
trees1234567
18:46
yeah I have test anxiety forsure
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
18:46
yeah you should do twoish PTs a week from when you start studying and try to replicate test conditions
trees1234567
18:46
yes I did not do a great job of replicating test day
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
18:47
depending on how much it affects you a daily meditation practice in the months leading up to it can also give you free points
trees1234567
18:47
I am in on that too - I will make a full plan over memorial day weekend!
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
18:47
and if you have super bad test anxiety you might want to work with a therapist like 3 months before hand, they can be super helpful for game day performance. but that can be overkill for some people
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
18:47
okay ill stop vomiting at you, I believe in your test success1
trees1234567
18:48
nah this is all great advice - rn need to focus on two more immediate LOCIs and then 2 more distant ones and then am going to turn to LSAT prep again

@CrowdedStingyMandrill: we only see a little piece of what’s going on here so sometimes it really doesn’t make sense to compare your results to other users but it looks like your cycle isn’t over yet! Good luck! Keep the faith!
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
18:49
okay, LOCIs can be a total slog. It's like having to write materials for all your schools all over again
@ararara: I know it's such bad practice to compare, but I can't help but feel jealous
@ararara: I felt my application and LoRs were SO strong and then I see the offers other people get and have self-doubt if I'm even a cool person :/
trees1234567
18:50
yes they are! but I did the most important ones to me first and then am working my way through the others - the stanford WL threw a wrench in the plans but if I get UVA Georgetown and Columbia done this week I will feel good
[] ararara
18:52
Also wouldn’t take these decisions personally regardless of their As, Rs, or WLs because we’re not our apps plus who a school admits depends on what they’re looking for at the moment!
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
18:52
holy crap you got a stanford WL? that's crazy your app must be incredible. honestly at that point you're probably getting in off at least one maybe multiple WLs
trees1234567
18:53
I hope so! I just feel blessed to have done as well as I have and am hoping to get over the hump somewhere!

just also am tired of writing more essays haha
