HLS opportunity grant is need-based, but the website said that they expect families who are below the poverty line to receive it (my family is just above by a hair) so i was all doubtful. But i poured my soul into the "Special Circumstances" section of the fin aid app and spoke honestly about my upbringing and current financial challenges and I think it spoke to the fin aid office at HLS

@eggbagel: no i did not. honestly that one is a mystery to me. i do feel like i wrote a good loci but i'm not sure waht the secret sauce was. I was also theorizing that since i applied the last day (march 1) that they thought i wasn't serious about Cornell maybe, and then the LOCI reiterated that i was?
