UT actually has the largest energy law and i believe one of the largest environmental law programs in the country because of the oil connections. also yeah i think something like 30% of UT's class place outside of texas
i suppose they must place well in NYC for students who want that. i must just be psyching myself out. this whole thing is so stressful sometimes i just want to fly back out to california and lie down in the sand in malibu and die
@jb2028: I love CAHSR but it suffers so much from: slow trickle of money; tons of nimby/ceqa bullshit challenges; and lack of anyone knowing how to build shit here.
i think its important though to remember when looking at the career outcomes of schools like UT that people from UT place so well in texas *because* they want to work in texas. as long as you do a good job of building your resume out in school and taking advantage of all your opportunities, you'll be fine no matter where you go
i deposited at a school that's giving me a full ride but i really dont want to practice there and even tho everyone ive met with said its self selection that most people stay regional im scared cause what if theyre just sayign that yk
@eggbagel: that's how I felt about Indiana, it's nerve wracking to not have a guaranteed exit plan but if you take advantage of the opportunities you can definitely get a job else-where
@eggbagel: im sure you'll do great no matter where you go but another concern with going somewhere like you described is that you might not have as much of an alumni network to depend on if you end up in the city you want to be in
everyone gets sf lmao like me and all my friends get sf

stepping off the plane and walking to our destination when my friend slipped on a huge pile of shit (which may or may not have been human) traumatized all of us
